About

Photo of Sandrine

I am a freelance science and technology journalist who writes for several outlets such as National Geographic, Scientific American, BBC Future and The Guardian. Previously, I was on staff at New Scientist for 9 years as video producer for the website. I am currently working on my first book.

In 2014, I was an ocean science journalism fellow at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, which inspired a few stories for New Scientist, such as an in-depth feature on how ocean noise can affect marine animals. Although I have often focussed on unusual animal behaviour in the past, more recently I have written about fairness in artificial intelligence and a prize to end blindness.

I grew up in Toronto, Canada and studied at McGill University and Concordia University in Montreal. I am currently based in London, UK but spend part of the year in Morocco, near the Sahara desert.
